Central Theater

Central Theater theater

A 1940 Art Deco movie palace in Ely's mining and railroad town, the Central Theater is a family-owned, single-screen cinema on the National Register of Historic Places. Digital projection and Dolby sound bring first-run films to this remote community at 1970s prices, with nightly 7 p.m. shows and weekend matinees. It is a living piece of Nevada film history, still glowing more than eight decades after opening.
